Barry Dickerson is Certified by the State Bar of Arizona as a specialist in Family Law.  He also practices in the area of probate, probate litigation, guardianships and conservatorships.  He has served for many years as a judge pro tem for the Arizona Superior Court in Maricopa County, primarily in family law cases.  Further, as an adjunct to his responsibilities as a judge pro tem he has served as a settlement judge for the Alternate Dispute Resolution (ADR) office of the Maricopa County Court.  Barry is a member of the Family Advisory Council.

Barry was born in Douglas, Arizona and grew up in Tucson, Arizona.  As a youth he was very active in Boy Scouts, achieving the rank of Eagle Scout at the age of 14 years.  As a result of his Scouting activities, he acquired a love for the outdoors and spent a lot of time hiking and camping in the Catalina Mountains surrounding Tucson.  Following high school, Barry served a mission for 27 months for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Uruguay, South America.  Having become proficient in speaking Spanish, Barry taught Spanish to other missionaries at the Language Training Mission while he was attending BYU as a student.

Barry completed his undergraduate studies at Brigham Young University in 1972, where he received a B.A. in History and minor in Spanish.  After graduating from college, Barry returned to Arizona, and attended the University of Arizona Law School where he received his Juris Doctor degree in 1975.  Barry is rated AV (highest competency/ethical standard) by Martindale-Hubbell Law Directory.  He is licensed to practice in Arizona in both the state and federal courts and the Supreme Court of the United States.

For more than 26 years Barry has been actively involved in the Sertoma Club of Mesa which is a service club which sponsors many community activities.  Barry has further been and continues to be involved as an adult leader in the Boy Scouts of America, having served as a Scoutmaster, District Boy Scout Commissioner, Venture leader and having served on the staff of many Wood Badge training courses, including course director.  Barry is the recipient of many leadership awards for his service to youth, including the prestigious Silver Beaver award which is the highest recognition given to adult Scout volunteers in the Grand Canyon Council.

Barry has represented a multitude of clients in family law, probate and bankruptcy cases in the thirty years of his practice.  He appears regularly in routine and contested family law matters in the trial courts of Maricopa County.  He has been a shareholder of the firm for more than twenty years and has served on the management committee of the firm several times, four of which years included service as the managing partner.
