Following a three-day trial, on April 12, 2007, a Maricopa County jury awarded $500,000 to a personal injury victim represented by attorney Brian Allen of Udall, Shumway & Lyons, PLC.  The case involved a hidden step-off hazard that existed in a parking lot at Aunt Chilada’s Restaurant at the Pointe South Mountain Resort.  As a result of her fall, the plaintiff suffered multiple crush fractures to her lower leg which required complex surgical repair and resulted in permanent disability to the victim.  The amount of the verdict was more than five times the highest pre-trial offer made by the defendant.
