Meral Kocak
Meral Kocal is a litigator whose practice focuses on commercial and school law matters. She represents businesses and educational institutions in a wide range of disputes, including commercial litigation, contract disputes, real estate disputes, and apellate matters. Meral approaches each case with a strategic mindset and a focus on practical solutions that align with her clients’ goals.
Meral earned her Juris Doctor from Georgetown University Law Center, where she participated in the Civil Rights Clinic and interned with the Los Angeles County Public Defender’s Office. She also holds a Master’s degree in Anthropology from Harvard Divinity School and a Bachelor’s degree in Anthropology from the University of Melbourne in Australia.
Prior to joining Udall Shumway, Meral worked in civil litigation, where she gained broad experience handling complex disputes from early case strategy through motion practice and appeals. Her work is grounded in thoughtful advocacy, careful analysis, and clear communication with clients. Outside the office, Meral enjoys hiking with her dog, Amirah, and traveling to experience new landscapes and cultures.
