Dooley’s topic was on the subject of the Discipline of Special Education Students, and Kimberly R. Davis spoke on Section 504: The “Other” Special Education Law. Heather R. Pierson discussed the Latest OCR and U.S. Department of Education Guidance.

The ASBA conference is held every year in an effort to help Arizona school administrators and school board members gain an understanding of foundational legal issues facing the education system. This year marked the 60th anniversary of the landmark Brown v. Board of Education decision on school desegregation. Several high-profile sessions focused on education equity – an issue that continues to present policy and legal challenges today.
